Binboa Vodka, Turkey's first world class vodka, organized a cocktail competition with the collaboration of the Barmen Association of Turkey. The prize competition was won by Ali Rıza Yalçın from the Mövenpick Hotel, Cevat Yıldırım from the Ritz Carlton came second and Mahmut Öztop from The Marmara Bodrum came third.

Binboa Vodka, the favourite drink of summer months with its high quality and modern bottle design, organized a cocktail competition calling out to barmen who were bold enough to mix their own unique cocktails. All barmen were invited to “Binboa Cocktail Competition ‘05” organized with the collaboration of The Barmen Association of Turkey (TBD).

The first leg of the competition series was held at Antalya Barut Hotels Lara Resort & Spa on 8 August, the second leg at Bodrum İsis Hotel on 10 August and the third leg and the final at the İstanbul Mövenpick Hotel on 15 August. Talented barmen competed ruthlessly in the organization, and among the jury there were both prominent figures from the tourism industry and journalists.

In the Antalya semi-final of the competition, where stunningly attractive cocktails with a spectrum of ingredients were created, Ahmet Uysal from Sungate Port Royal Hotel came first, Nazmi Kaplan from Asteria Hotel came second and Erhan Bozdemir from Resort Hotel from Xanadu Resort Hotel came third. In the Bodrum semi-final Mahmut Öztop from The Marmara Hotel came first, Berkan Bakkal from the same hotel came second, Sait Ali Aydın from Veli Bar came third. In the Istanbul semi-final, 26 barmen in all attended the competition and Ali Rıza Yalçın from the Mövenpick Hotel, Cevat Yıldırım from the Ritz Carlton and Uğur Özkan Uygun from Abelia Club respectively shared the first three places.

In the final which brought together all competitors who were ranked in the competitions in the three cities, Ali Rıza Yalçın came first with his cocktail named ‘Trip To Nature' and won the 2.000 dollar prize. Cevat Yıldırım, with his cocktail named Boa Effect, took the 1.500 dollar prize for second place and Mahmut Öztop, with his cocktail named Akvaryum/Aquarium took the 1.000 dollar prize for third place.

Zeliha Şener, Mey Alcoholic Beverages Vodka and Gin Product Director, stated that Binboa Vodka had a unique air created by its imported bottle and renewed content and that they had brought a vigour to the world of vodka with the specially designed bottle, minimalist design and colour. Şener went on to explain that Binboa Vodka was produced through the double distillation and triple filtering of alcohol derived from special golden barley added that the product was rested for a month before bottling.

Binboa Vodka, which became the most popular drink of the season especially in holiday resorts has received great attention from young people also. Binboa Vodka shall continue to be present at a variety of organizations beside the cocktail competition.
